Every student arrives with their own unique personality, interests and aspirations. Some are naturally confident: others need a little more time to learn to believe in themselves and their abilities. Some enjoy performing from the very beginning, whilst others love the quiet pleasures of playing at home. There is no single path through music, and that is exactly how it should be.

At Ortigia Music Academy, we believe that the best teaching begins with understanding the individual. Lessons are carefully planned around each student, combining high musical standards, patience, encouragement and a genuine enthusiasm for music.

Music Miles

Music Miles is Ortigia Music Academy's own musical rewards programme, designed to encourage and celebrate every part of a student's musical journey.

Students collect Music Miles throughout the year by taking part in lessons, practising regularly and embracing the many experiences that help them grow as musicians. As Music Miles are collected, students progress through academy milestones and can enjoy a range of special musical rewards, experiences and opportunities.

At Ortigia Music Academy, we believe that learning music extends far beyond the lesson itself. Progress is not measured only by examinations or the pieces a student can play, but by the habits they develop, the curiosity they show and the enjoyment they discover along the way. Music Miles celebrates that journey.

Young Talent

For young musicians showing exceptional promise and commitment, Ortigia offers additional opportunities through our Young Talent programme; including twice-yearly auditions, partial scholarships, conservatoire audition preparation and additional performance opportunities.
