Meet the Musicians
When inviting teachers to join the academy, we look beyond qualifications and experience. We look for musicians who teach with intelligence, generosity and care. People who understand that every student is different, and who enjoy the privilege and responsibility of helping others to grow.
Our teachers come from a variety of musical backgrounds, each bringing their own experience, interests and personality. Some perform regularly, others have devoted many years to teaching, and many combine both. We see this diversity as one of the academy's strengths, allowing students to learn from musicians with different perspectives and experiences.
Ariane Jurriaanse
Ariane Jurriaanse is a Concert Pianist, teacher and founder of Ortigia Music Academy. She has devoted her life to sharing the transformative power of music. Drawing on decades of international performing and teaching experience, she is known for her warmth and her inspiring and individual approach to musical development.
Ariane believes that every student possesses unique musical potential. Her teaching philosophy combines artistic excellence with genuine encouragement; building confidence, creativity and a deep connection to music which will last a lifetime.
Alison Lambert
Alison Lambert's enjoyment of music began through her local music service and from the age of 14, she knew she wanted to be a professional performing musician. She is passionate about sharing with others the amazing musical training that she received.
Her approach to teaching and coaching is based on your individual needs and draws on Alison's many years of experience, performing and teaching at the highest level, both in the U.K and abroad.
As Clarinet Tutor and Bass Clarinet Tutor at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, one of the top music conservatoires in the U.K. Alison is uniquely positioned to help you prepare for more advanced study, whether it be a grade exam, music college entry audition, a professional orchestral audition or simply wanting to stretch your playing further!
Guy Locke
I am an accomplished guitar tutor with over 25 years of experience teaching both privately and in schools. I currently teach at Malvern College (started in 2004 and grew the faculty) and Dean Close in Cheltenham (since 2014).
I specialise in rock, but am competent teaching all styles such as jazz, funk and blues having trained at the Guitar Institute in London. Additionally I offer bass tuition, while I also teach classical guitar and have a number of grade eight students on my resume.
While I have much experience in guiding pupils through exams, technique and the individual’s requirements are at the core of my pedagogy to ultimately help my students become better guitar players.
